After Trump’s victory, a supposed prediction from “The Simpsons” ends up wrong

“The Simpsons” has been trending on social media after predicting Kamala Harris’ success in the presidential election, with followers pointing out the similarities between Kamala Harris and Lisa Simpson after an episode showing the cartoon character become the first female president of the US.

However this prediction from The Simpsons has failed to materialize, with one follower tweeting: “This is the first time The Simpsons has been wrong,” and another wrote: “The Simpsons fails to predict the US presidency for the first time, is this an agreement or a coincidence, despite wearing the cartoon character’s clothes.”
For years, The Simpsons has had a knack for supposedly forecasting the future.
In the season 11 episode of the long-running cartoon series, fans pointed out the visual similarities between Lisa Simpson and Kamala Harris.
On Sunday, the show’s producer Al Jean celebrated the key prediction via a post on the X platform, shedding light on the 2000 episode, dubbed “Bart to the Future,” by publishing an image of Lisa besides Harris dressed alike. “@TheSimpsons predictions that I’m proud to be a part of,” he captioned the photo.
