After a 12-year hiatus, Misrayon & Polyester Fiber Company resumes exports

The Misrayon & Polyester Fiber Company in Kafr al-Dawar city managed to export the first shipment of its production for the first time in about 12 years before resuming work in January.

The procedures for shipping the first export shipment of five containers to Turkey have been completed, and other export shipments amounting to 14 containers to Europe and Turkey are being prepared during April.

The rate of export abroad will increase during the next month by 150 percent, with dollar revenues reaching US$ 1.25 million per month, in addition to local sales providing the private sector’s industrial requirements that were imported from abroad, as sales amounted to LE 30 million per month.

The Minister of the Public Business Sector Mahmoud Esmat, confirmed that the second production line for polyester fiber is scheduled to be operated within the next two months, bringing the production capacity to 40,000 tons annually.

He added that work is underway to equip the thread factory, where three out of eight machines have been operated for thin threads with high tensile strength.

Esmat said that the business strategy is to maximize the returns on assets owned by companies through good management, investment, and increasing their resources.
