The Adl Party asked President Mohamed Morsy to release all political prisoners and reveal the reports of the fact-finding committees that have been investigating detentions since the outbreak of the revolution.
The party also expressed hope that the defense minister becomes a civilian figure.
The party stressed on Facebook the necessity of providing a democratic atmosphere that guarantees the circulation of power, freedom of expression, protection of the dignity of Egyptians, and equality and justice.
The party supported Morsy’s recent decisions, saying that the armed forces should serve its fundamental purpose of defending the country, rather than participating in politics or economics.
Morsy dismissed both Defense Minister Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Sami Anan on Sunday. He appointed General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as the new defense minister and Lieutenant General Sidqy Sobhy as the new chief of staff. He also named Judge Mahmoud Mekky as vice president.
The party rejected Morsy's decision form a new constituent assembly through elections if the current assembly fails to complete its task.
