A group of political activists on social networking site Facebook called on Thursday for an hour-long “electronic protest” against military trials for civilians. The proposed online protest is to begin at 10 am on Saturday
More than 3000 Facebook users joined the page in support of the e-protest, which will be focused on writing comments against military trials for civilians on the official Facebook pages of Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), the cabinet, and the Interior Ministry.
The first quarter of an hour will be devoted to commenting on the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces’ page, and the second quarter of an hour will be for commenting on the official website of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Egypt, the third quarter of an hour for Sharaf’s page, and the last quarter of an hour for the Interior Ministry’s official website.
“No to military trials” will be written on each page.
