Activists call for another “Friday of Anger” next week

Some of the youth who participated in the January 25 revolution called for another "Friday of Anger" demonstration on 27 May, in order to push for the fulfillment of the rest of their demands.

"We do not represent any political movement or party, but we decided to continue exerting more pressure on the government until all the demands of January 25 revolution are met," said the youth in a statement issued on Saturday.

They demanded in the statement that a civil presidential council including credible figures be formed to run the country during the transitional period, the eradication of the police institution of all corrupt leaders and officers, and the reinstatement of security in the streets.

The statement, entitled "I didn't witness any change, I am going back to Tahrir Square", also called for purging the judicial system, general prosecutions, local councils, governorates, and media of all the former regime's corrupt members. It demanded the release of all the political detainees of the revolution, the prosecution of corrupt officials, and restoration of public funds stolen by regime figures.

The statement said if the money is not recovered, the guilty will be tried in merciless revolutionary courts.
