Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank chairman murderer sentenced to death

A Cairo court sentenced to death a person named Karim Saber on charges of murdering Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Nevin Lotfy.

The prosecution charged the accused with premeditated murder, possessing hash, Tramadol, heroin, and a bladed weapon, as well as stealing a car.

Saber went to the victim’s house and entered her room and when she woke up, he muzzled her and stabbed her seven times in the neck and chest with a knife that he took from the kitchen.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the defendant resided in The Rod al-Farag neighborhood and he had previously been charged in 10 different cases, including theft, drug trafficking, beating, and possession of bladed weapons. He was sentenced to three months in prison for robbery.

He used to work as a security guard in the residential compound where the victim had been living for some time, and was sacked for drug abuse and misbehavior.
