The Cairo International Film Festival announced the opening for submissions for the Arab film projects in the ninth edition of the Cairo Film Forum.
This is being held as part of the Cairo Film Industry Days and will be run this year by the Algerian director and programmer leader Nada Belkheiria, succeeding the Lebanese writer and director Shadi Zein.
Linda Belkheiria, festival programmer and director of the Carthage Professional Platform, worked as a consultant on several jury projects in international festivals, and participated as a coordinator at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in 2011 at the same time as joining the Carthage Film Festival team in 2016.
The Cairo Film Connection requires that the director of the film project be an Arab, and that the film be a fiction or long documentary in the development or post-production stage.
They also require that the director of the project must have worked on at least one film, whether it was long or short.
Projects for this category can be submitted to the Cairo Film Forum through the festival’s official website.
