Scores of Mubarak supporters have gathered in front of the military hospital in Maadi, South Cairo, where the former president is being held.
Many cried and held up pictures of him while waiting for news on his condition after reports had circulated Tuesday that he was clinically dead. Some spent the night in the garden surrounding the hospital.
Mubarak was transferred from Tora Prison Hospital to the Maadi Military Hospital after suffering a brain stroke that doctors failed to treat. His lawyer Farid al-Deeb denied rumors of his death and assured that he is responding to treatment.
