An injured man wounded during the revolution admitted to being pressed, along with three others, not to sue police officers accused of killing protesters during the uprising, and to signing a reconciliation agreement with the suspected officers, providing him with a large compensation sum.
Okasha Ali, who is from Beni Suef, told the satellite TV channel ONTV Wednesday that he agreed to the compensation after being promised LE30,000.
Ali added that some people calling themselves mediators spoke to him on multiple occasions four days after he had left the hospital. Following several threats, he was convinced to withdraw his lawsuit.
Emad Mostafa, lawyer for the four injured in Beni Suef, said one of the suspects, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Dabash, is still performing in his job at the Beba police station, interrogated the injured himself, and personally proposed the deal to them.
Mostafa added that he filed a police report against policemen accused of killing protesters in Beni Suef in order to prove that some of the injured had been pressed to withdraw their cases.
The lawyer attached a check with LE120,000 that had been provided from the Beni Suef Security Directorate to the men who offered the money to those injured.
