Egyptian military tanks and armored vehicles have been deployed to protect the Israeli embassy in Cairo after a group of angry protesters tried to storm its offices.
Eyewitnesses told Al-Masry Al-Youm that around 10 military tanks and armored vehicles are currently surrounding the embassy’s building in Giza district.
They added that Central Security Forces are also cordoning off the embassy, which has been the site of demonstrations for three weeks after an Israeli raid killed five Egyptian soldiers near the border area.
Also on Friday’s night, Egyptian authorities arrested four people who tried to storm into an office belonging to the Israeli embassy in Cairo, a security source said.
