On Sunday employees of the Mugamma, a large government administrative building in downtown Cairo, joined protesters staging an open-ended sit-in in Tahrir Square.
Protesters confirmed they would continue their strike alongside the revolution's martyrs’ families, reiterating that the interim government and ruling military council have not responded quickly to the revolution’s demands.
Passport department employees who joined the sit-in formed a voluntary department to guide citizens to alternative places where passports can be processed, after the Mugamma closed on Sunday.
Thousands have been protesting in Tahrir Square, and several political coalitions said there will be conference on Sunday at Tahrir for open discussions with protesters and question and answer sessions.
Protesters called on university students, now on vacation, to join the sit-in.
