Egyptian presidential hopeful Mohamed ElBaradei has renewed his demand for progress on identifying those individuals behind counter-revolutionary activities in Egypt.
In a Twitter message on Thursday, he wrote that it was "inconceivable after 5 months from the revolution, that we still don't know who is behind 'the plan to undermine the revolution'."
He said, also on Twitter, that Egypt would not recover if such a farce continued.
On Wednesday, ElBaradei said that certain forces are trying to thwart the revolution and added that police violence was unacceptable. He urged fair trials for those involved in the incidents taking place.
ElBaradei’s statements came in the aftermath of violent clashes that took place in Tahrir Square late on Tuesday and Wednesday. The clashes left scores injured.
He also said that all Egyptians have the right to participate in protests scheduled for 8 July. The length and intensity of protests will depend on how the government and the ruling military council deal with the revolution’s demands, he says, as Egyptians are determined not to end the revolution until its goals have been acheived.
