The Cairo Criminal Court on Saturday postponed until 26 June the trial of former interior minister Habib al-Adly and six of his assistants for the killing of protesters during the 25 January revolution.
Clashes broke out between angry families of the martyrs and armed forces securing the court after the families were banned from attending the session.
The prosecutor called for the execution of the defendants. It also called for 15 years' hard labor for Omar Faramawi, the 6th October City security head, for the security void that started during the revolution. The plaintiffs also called for temporary civil compensation of LE100 million.
According to official statistics, around 846 people were killed and 6400 injured during the uprising.
