Qena protesters called for a million-member protest next Friday under the title "The Friday of Dignity and Public Will" if their demand that the current Coptic governor be replaced is not met.
They called for second million-member protest on Sunday to push for the removal of Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and the trial of his deputy Yehia al-Gamal.
The protesters continued a sit-in, refusing to allow the movement of trains, while stressing that their motto over the coming days will be "Muslims and Copts United" to confront attempts to break the unity of Qena residents.
Protesters also expressed disappointment at the participation of Sharaf in Friday's gathering in Cairo in appreciation of the military. They said Sharaf has ignored the Qena protests.
