Spring cleaning, spring allergies and spring skirts — upcoming fashion designer Deana Shaaban created a new limited edition collection of comfortable, flowy and colorful skirts for the coming season.
The limited edition is composed of 13 creative designs with three sizes available for each design.
“All the skirts have been made of a combination of different types of fabric such as silk, linen, polyester and cotton,” said Shaaban.
All skirts combine more than one color, mixing solid with printed fabrics. Some of the skirts have layers with a different color for each layer. The layers cover areas like the stomach and hips.
“I buy fabrics from all over the world,” said Shaaban. “I want everyone to see that when the world comes together, beautiful and incredible things can result.”
As usual, Shaaban brought her own experience in life, living several cultures to her own creations. The skirts are bold and funky, creating an unexpected combination of colors and harmony.
Shaaban used linen to ensure comfort for the working woman of Cairo, in addition to silk to add a classy and glamorous flare to the design.
“Like most of my designs, the skirts are flowy and airy and not constrictive, reflecting a woman's desire for freedom of expression,” Shaaban explained. The skirts could be worn with cotton t-shirts or be dressed up with a formal silk shirt — a passe par tout piece.
The skirts are composed of several different types of fabric composed of different colors — beige, blue, red, maroon, green, white and pink and prints, spring flowers and paisley. The designer collected the fabrics from Egypt, Turkey, India, Indonesia and the US.
The 39 pieces are created for the hot, steamy weather in Egypt, creating an airy feel and comfort for the wearer.
The limited edition is available for a limited period of time. The price range is between LE500 and LE600.
