Egypt's stock exchange, which re-opened on Wednesday after a seven-week closure due to political turmoil, will not close again, the acting exchange chairman said on Wednesday.
"We will not shut down the stock exchange again," Acting Exchange Chairman Mohamed Abdel Salam told a news conference.
Egyptian shares plunged 10 percent seconds after the stock exchange reopened for trade. The benchmark index .EGX30 tumbled 8.7 percent.
