The Egyptian Foreign Ministry is calling on the international community to support the country's economy, which has been badly affected by the recent political crisis that ended with the ousting of former President Hosni Mubarak's regime.
A statement issued by the ministry on Monday noted that Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit had received calls from Arab and international officials on the latest developments in Egypt and to discuss ways to provide support.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, British and Saudi foreign ministers, as well as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas were among the callers, according to the statement.
