Due to the current events taking place in Egypt, the Arab League General Secretariat has postponed the Arab-Latin American summit scheduled to be held in Peru on 16 February
In a statement to the press, Ahmed Ben Hali, the Arab League's assistant secretary general, said the Arab League contacted Arab and Latin countries before making the decision.
He affirmed that Arab countries are keen on holding such summits to bolster relations with between nations with a view to serving the people's interests.
The postponed summit will be the third such event. Previous Arab-Latin American summits were held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and Doha, Qatar.
