Authorities at Cairo Airport said all incoming flights are carrying media figures of different nationalities who intend to cover the country's current political crisis.
Arriving press corps have been provided with all facilitation required, the auhtorities said.
Customs officials at the airport said that 87 items have been kept in the airport's custody pending entry approvals, including cameras, mobile phones, satellite broadcasting sets and protective helmets.
The same sources added that the airport’s arrival halls have seen an unprecedented phenomenon, as scores of Egyptians coming from abroad carried weapons, tasers, and pepper spray, which were also confiscated.
