Amidst storm reports, Egypt’s Education Ministry issues official statement on school closures

The Egyptian Education Ministry issued a statement on Monday regarding rumors spread online about school closures on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education said that all posts reporting decisions attributed to the Ministry regarding closing classes are false, and no official decisions have been made yet.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Shady Zalata, explained that there is ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Education and the Egyptian Meteorological Authority to obtain the latest updates on the weather conditions for Wednesday and Thursday in order to make the appropriate decision.

Zalata urged social media users not to be misled by fabricated posts and to rely on accurate information issued by the Ministry of Education.
