FM holds talks with Pakistani PM in Islamabad on regional crisis

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Sunday with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, alongside Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, to discuss the latest regional tensions and ways to reduce escalation.

During the talks, they stressed the importance of coordination among the three countries to contain the crisis and prevent further instability.

Sharif praised the role of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in supporting efforts aimed at easing tensions.

The three officials also reviewed diplomatic contacts with regional and international parties to support direct negotiations between the US and Iran, with emphasis on dialogue as the main path to resolving the crisis.

In addition, the meeting addressed regional developments, including the Palestinian issue, the Horn of Africa, and South Asia, including Afghanistan, along with broader discussions on regional security.
