Sisi asserts Egypt’s full rejection, condemnation of Iranian attack on Qatar

CAIRO, March 15 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi conducted a phone call with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed al-Shennawy said that President Sisi asserted Egypt’s firm rejection and condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Qatar.

He reiterated Egypt’s full support for Qatar, affirming that both the government and the people of Egypt stand in complete solidarity with their Gulf brothers amid the current developments, the spokesman said.

The president also expressed Egypt’s readiness to provide all necessary forms of support to safeguard the security and stability of the Gulf countries, Shennawy added.

President Sisi highlighted that Egypt is actively engaging in both international and regional diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing conflict as soon as possible, Shennawy said.

He commended Qatar’s role in pushing for de-escalation and maintaining regional stability, the spokesman added.

The spokesperson further added that the Qatari emir expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to President Sisi for Egypt’s consistent solidarity with Qatar and the Gulf states, especially in these challenging times.

He said that Qatar continues to coordinate with Egypt and other brotherly nations to prevent further escalation and work towards ending the conflict swiftly, the spokesman said.

Sisi stressed that Egypt and the Gulf states share a common fate, viewing Gulf security as an extension of Egypt’s own national security, Shennawy said.

The president emphasized the importance of strengthening joint Arab efforts to face the current challenges, overcome them, and activate the concept of collective Arab national security to defend against any attacks on Arab nations, the spokesman said. (MENA)
