US President Donald Trump announced that American forces destroyed 10 Iranian mine-laying vessels as part of ongoing military operations against Tehran.
Trump wrote on his social media account, Truth Social: “In the last few hours, we struck and completely destroyed 10 inactive mine-laying boats or vessels.”
This announcement comes as Iran launches attacks on US military installations in the Middle East and Israeli territory in retaliation for the war that began on February 28.
The first day of the conflict resulted in the bombing of a girls’ school in southern Iran and the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The total number of casualties has exceeded 1,300, according to Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
