
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced early Wednesday morning the launch of the 37th wave of Operation “True Promise IV” targeting Tel Aviv, Al Jazeera reported.
The Revolutionary Guard said that the 37th wave of missiles lasted for at least three hours.
A state of high alert was declared in large areas of central Israel and Jerusalem after missile launches from Iran toward Israeli territory were detected, according to the Israeli Home Front Command.
The Israeli army said its air defense systems were working to intercept the missiles, as sirens sounded in several areas, including Tel Aviv, the Carmel region south of Haifa, and the Sharon region north of Tel Aviv, according to Al Jazeera.
The channel, citing its correspondent, reported hearing loud explosions in the Jerusalem area, coinciding with the activation of air defense systems to intercept the missiles.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that paramedics treated several people injured in a stampede as civilians rushed to shelters after the air raid sirens sounded.
