Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly returned home on Friday, following his participation, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace meeting in Washington.
In his official address before the meeting, Madbouly expressed Egypt’s strong support for the vision aimed at ushering in a “new era of peace and coexistence” in the region.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to working within this international framework to devise sustainable solutions that will resolve regional conflicts, with the Palestinian cause being of paramount importance.
This is in line with Egypt’s steadfast principles, which are grounded in legitimate rights and international law, he added.
Madbouly also underscored Egypt’s unwavering stance in prioritizing the provision of humanitarian and relief assistance, reiterating the categorical rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians or annex the West Bank.
He further stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved through a clear political process.
This process should lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, alongside the activation of the reconstruction plans pledged by the members of the board, he said.
