Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, departed for Addis Ababa on Wednesday evening to lead Egypt’s delegation at the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.
During the visit, the minister is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with his African counterparts and senior African Union officials.
These discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral relations and strengthening coordination on various regional issues and crises.
The talks aim to bolster joint African action in support of sustainable development, the AU’s Agenda 2063, and the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Furthermore, the Foreign Minister will chair the Ministerial Meeting of the Peace and Security Council regarding developments in Sudan and Somalia, held under the Egyptian Chairmanship of the Council.
This reflects Egypt’s steadfast commitment to supporting peace, security, and stability across the continent, safeguarding state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and preserving national institutions in accordance with the Constitutive Act of the African Union and the priorities of joint African action.
