Chill weather forecast for Monday across Egypt: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts very cold weather on Monday night and in the early morning, with warmer temperatures during the day across most of the country.

Mist is expected in the early morning hours (around 3:00 AM to 10:00 AM), which may be dense in parts of northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai, impacting horizontal visibility on main roads.

Frost is expected on crops in northern Upper Egypt, central Sinai, and the Western Desert during the night and early morning.

Low clouds and an occasional light drizzle are expected in parts of Lower Egypt, Cairo, and the Suez Canal cities.

There will be a chance of light to moderate rain at times on the northeastern coasts and northern Delta at intermittent intervals.

Light rain is also expected along parts of the northwestern coast at intervals.

The EMA urged drivers to be especially careful in the early morning due to fog on highways, particularly on the Cairo-Alexandria and Cairo-Menoufia road, as well as the desert road.

Drivers are advised to use their headlights, increase their following distance, and wear warm clothing both morning and evening, especially in the Western Desert and central Sinai.

Expected temperatures for Monday:

  • Matrouh: 17C
  • Cairo and Alexandria: 19C
  • Hurghada: 22C
  • Sharm El-Sheikh, Luxor and Aswan: 23C
