Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris denied reports claiming he recently visited Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During a phone interview with al-Hadath al-Youm channel on Tuesday evening, Sawiris said that he did not make the visit, emphasizing that if he had, he would have announced it publicly.
He added that he was saddened to see two media figures discussing these claims despite knowing they were false, or at least without verifying their accuracy
Sawiris said that he did not know who might have an interest in spreading such news, reiterating his denial by saying, “If it were true, I would have announced it… I’m not afraid of anything.”
“It’s inconceivable that I would even go and greet someone who just committed a massacre and killed 60,000 people. What would I say to him!?”
