Three Egyptians kidnapped in Mali released: Foreign Ministry

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that intensive diplomatic efforts had successfully secured the release of the three Egyptians kidnapped in Mali.

In a statement, the ministry said that this step came after continuous, round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and close coordination with the Malian government through the Egyptian Embassy in Bamako, all relevant state institutions, and the Consular Sector of the Foreign Ministry.

It affirmed its commitment to continuously monitoring the well-being of Egyptian citizens around the world and its dedication to providing them with the highest levels of care, support, and protection.

This commitment stems from its national responsibility and its unwavering dedication to safeguarding their rights and protecting their interests abroad.

The ministry reiterated its call to all Egyptian citizens residing in Mali to fully comply with the instructions and laws of the local authorities, carry identification documents at all times, and to exercise extreme caution.

It also advised them to avoid traveling or moving outside the capital to other cities and regions at this time to ensure their safety and security.

The Foreign Ministry said it is also maintaining contact with the Malian authorities and the Egyptian Embassy in Bamako to reinforce these instructions and ensure the safety of Egyptian citizens residing in Mali.
