Egypt remittances surge 45% in first nine months of 2025 – central bank

CAIRO, Nov 17 (MENA) – The Central Bank of Egypt said on Monday that remittances from Egyptians working abroad rose sharply in the first nine months of 2025, climbing 45.1 percent year-on-year to a record $ 30.2 billion, compared with about $ 20.8 billion in the same period a year earlier.

The bank added in a statement that monthly inflows also strengthened. Remittances in September 2025 increased 30.9 percent to roughly $ 3.6 billion, up from around $ 2.7 billion in September 2024.
