Egypt, Saudi Arabia stress depth, strength of relations

CAIRO, Nov 14 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdel Atty and Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Friday emphasized the depth and strength of relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, noting that the relationship continues to grow across various political, economic and developmental levels.

This came during a phone call between the two ministers, as part of ongoing consultation and continuous coordination between the two countries regarding bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest.

The two ministers discussed the course of bilateral relations and expressed their mutual commitment to continue coordinating efforts to enhance the partnership, which serves their mutual interests and contributes to supporting security and stability in the region.

Abdelatty and Farhan also addressed the developments in the Gaza Strip, where they emphasized the importance of continued Egyptian-Saudi coordination in supporting efforts to solidify the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement and build upon it, with a focus on fully implementing the agreement’s terms. This includes ensuring a permanent ceasefire and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of Gaza’s residents.

Abdelatty also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the Cairo International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza.

The phone call also addressed developments in Sudan, where both ministers reiterated the importance of the ceasefire and creating conditions for a comprehensive political process that preserves Sudan’s unity, sovereignty stability.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian minister condemned the atrocities and horrific violations occurring in the city of Al-Fasher, calling for regional and international efforts to support the Sudanese people and assist their national institutions. (MENA)
