Egypt’s Civil Aviation Ministry denies studying establishment of low-cost airline

The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation denied reports circulating online regarding a study to establish a low-cost airline or offering of shares for investment by banks or tourism investment companies.

In a statement issued Friday, the ministry clarified that this information was not issued by any official body within the civil aviation sector, and is not accurate.

It emphasized that current plans are being implemented according to approved policies, with no intention of launching projects of this kind.

The ministry called on media outlets and social media users to verify the accuracy of published information and to refer only to official statements issued by the ministry, in order to ensure the credibility of information and prevent confusion.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation emphasized its full legal right to take all necessary measures against any parties that circulate or promote false news that could harm the sector and its achievements.
