Egypt, Malawi discuss strengthening trade and investment ties

CAIRO, Oct 17 (MENA) – Egypt’s Ambassador to Malawi Rasha Hamdy held talks with Daisy Kambalame, CEO of the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), on ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting addressed mechanisms to boost bilateral trade and explored the investment opportunities and incentives offered by each side to attract business partnerships, according to a statement by the foreign ministry. The discussion also included a review of proposed sectors for commercial collaboration, notably in food products, construction materials, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and medical supplies and equipment.

The ambassador stressed the importance of establishing direct lines of communication between the chambers of commerce in Egypt and Malawi to serve mutual economic interests and support the development of bilateral trade and economic relations.
