The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects a sudden drop in temperatures across the country over the coming days – especially at night – leading to a slight chill.
The EMA said in a statement that temperatures will decline this week, with the average temperature in Greater Cairo reaching 30C during the day.
The weather will be mild during the evening and early morning hours, and hot in Greater Cairo during the day.
Night temperatures will be noticeably colder, breaking below 20C for the first time since the beginning of the season. Evening conditions will be pleasant and moderate from the sunset.
Rainfall is expected to continue through the end of the week, with occasional, random showers in a few locations along the Mediterranean coast, from Marsa Matrouh and Alexandria to Arish. Rain will be particularly concentrated in Alexandria, al-Beheira, and Kafr el-Sheikh.
Generally, the rainfall will be light, and may not occur daily; when it does, it will be brief.
Weather maps warn of morning fog across the north of the country, extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, along some agricultural and expressways, and those near bodies of water.
There will be a chance of light rain falling intermittently in parts of the northern coast and the northern part of Lower Egypt, and winds will be active in South Sinai and the southern parts of the country intermittently.
The Mediterranean Sea will be light to moderate, with waves ranging from one to 1.5 meters high and northwestern winds.
The Red Sea will be moderate to rough, with waves ranging from two to 2.5 meters high and northwestern winds.
The Gulf of Suez will be moderate to rough, with waves ranging from two to three meters high and northwestern winds.
