CAIRO, Sept 28 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stressed on Sunday that the Foreign Ministry remains the first line of defense for Egypt’s national interests, which requires the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and constant readiness from all its members.
His remarks came during a meeting with members of Egypt’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the Consulate General in New York as part of the top diplomat’s keenness on maintaining direct and continuous communication with Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad.
He outlined the key priorities of Egypt’s foreign policy on both the regional and international levels in light of his participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He stressed that the rapidly evolving developments in the regional and global arenas call for continued and full coordination between the various sectors of the Ministry and Egypt’s overseas missions.
He stressed that protecting the interests of Egyptian citizens abroad remains a top priority for diplomatic missions.
He underlined the importance of the cultural aspect of diplomatic work, noting that Egypt’s soft power is a fundamental tool for promoting the country’s ancient civilization and heritage, as well as raising awareness of its modern achievements.
These efforts, he said, contribute to enhancing Egypt’s global standing and reinforcing its interests on the international stage.
He praised the role of Egypt’s Permanent Mission and Consulate General in New York for their efforts in serving the Egyptian community and Egyptian interests within international and UN platforms. (MENA)
