A five-year old child broke into tears when he was brought to court on charges of beating one of his schoolmates, prompting the judge to give him candy to calm down.
The child was brought to a juvenile criminal court in Shubra al-Kheima to be tried after injuring another child's eye. The boy started crying as soon as he walked into court.
The judge asked for some sweets for the child and rejected the lawsuit, ordering the boy's release.
The child's father said he was surprised when his son was summoned to court.
According to the father, his son was playing when he unintentionally poked the other boy in the eye with his pencil, causing a minor injury.
