
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority warned of an intense heat wave prevailing across the country on Tuesday, with temperatures reaching their highest levels, at 47C in the southern parts of the country.
The EMA added that the heatwave will peak on Wednesday and Thursday across the nation.
It advised citizens to avoid direct sunlight, stay away from poorly ventilated rooms, drink plenty of water, avoid eating spicy foods, and wear light-colored head-wear.
Tuesday’s temperatures:
- Alexandria: 36C
- Cairo: 40C
- Hurghada: 43C
- Sharm el-Sheikh: 44C
- Luxor and Aswan: 47C
