
TikTok influencer Sherif Nassar passed away on Friday evening under mysterious circumstances, sparking grief and shock among his followers as questions continue to swirl around his death.
The husband of Nassar’s sister posted the news of his death on Facebook, saying, “My wife’s brother and friend, Nassar, has passed away to the mercy of God. God is the judge, before and after. May God not let you see any harm in your loved ones.”
Sources close to Nassar’s family said that he had been under immense mental duress following a wave of backlash and cyber-bullying he received online.
However, no official cause of his death has not been revealed.
Cyberbullying campaign
Nassar faced a backlash of harassment after several of his videos sparked controversy on social media. The backlash escalated to a point that many accused it of being a cyberbullying campaign which negatively impacted Nassar’s mental state.
Artist Shady Shamel commented on Nassar’s death on his personal Facebook account, writing: “This man, whom all of Egypt mocked, has passed away.”

Nassar was known for his short comedic videos about his daily life. His cheerful spirit and constant engagement with his audience drew him a large fan base of hundreds of thousands of followers.
Despite the controversy surrounding some of his content recently, Nassar remained highly appreciated and loved by a wide segment of his followers, who expressed deep sadness at his sudden passing.
Several social media users called for an investigation into the circumstances of his death, and to raise awareness about the dangers of cyberbullying and its devastating psychological impact, especially on young content creators.
