
FREETOWN, March 29 (MENA) – Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Wonie Bio lauded his successful visit to Egypt and the wisdom and vision of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in developing Africa.
In a statement, the presidency in Sierra Leone said that the visit is a new achievement in boosting diplomatic and economic cooperation between both countries.
During his meeting with Sierra Leone’s president, President Sisi asserted the strength of the relations between Egypt and Sierra Leone and the possibility to deepen joint cooperation, the statement said.
Sierra Leone’s president lauded the constructive discussions with President Sisi that focused on boosting bilateral ties and cooperation in regional issues.
Both leaders asserted the necessity to expand economic cooperation in the fields of agriculture, health, transport, aviation, navy, fisheries, defense, education and political cooperation, according to the statement.
President Bio asserted Sierra Leone’s commitment to global peace and security, praising its role as a non-permanent member in the UNSC.
During the visit, both presidents witnessed inking a number of memorandums of understanding that aim at promoting bilateral ties in the different sectors.
The statement added that the visit asserts Sierra Leone’s interest in agricultural development and keenness on discovering cooperation opportunities with Egypt in this sector. (MENA)
