Egypt once again affirms its rejection towards displacement of Palestinians: SIS

The State Information Service (SIS) has reiterated Egypt’s firm and absolute rejection towards any attempt to forcibly or voluntarily displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to anywhere else – particularly Egypt.

The SIS clarified that the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza represents the liquidation of the Palestinian cause and poses an imminent threat to Egypt’s national security.

The SIS statement also refuted allegations circulated by media outlets claiming that Egypt has accepted any displacement attempts in exchange for economic aid.

Egyptian foreign policy has never been based on “bartering” supreme Egyptian and Arab interests for any consideration, whatever its type, it stressed.

Specifically regarding the Palestinian issue – the core of Egyptian and Arab national security – Egypt has maintained its firm, principled stance for more than three-quarters of a century, one that prioritizes national security considerations and the rights of the Palestinian people.

The SIS continued, “As a result of its stance, Egypt has borne—patiently—enormous economic and financial burdens that have never pushed it toward any concessions, even the slightest,  regarding the requirements of its own national security and the general security of its Arab nation, or regarding a single legitimate right of the Palestinian people.”

Egypt has stressed its position time and time again before the world, the statement said, in line with its national security and supreme Arab interests and in preserving the Palestinian cause.
