An Egyptian housewife in the Qalyubiya governorate murdered her three children early Saturday morning following a mental health breakdown.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect killed her three children after they had their pre-dawn meal (Suhur).
She strangled them one by one as they slept in their home in Ezbet el-Mantawi, in the Kafr Hamza area of Khanka.
Following her arrest, authorities revealed that the suspect is named Suzan, 29, and the victims are her children: Shahd, 12, Mahmoud, seven, and Aya, five.
Security forces also detained the suspect’s husband, who was found to be the one who reported the incident to security forces.
The Public Prosecution authorized the burial of the three bodies following the completion of an autopsy by forensic doctor.
