The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced the launch of a luggage storage service, which aims to provide a secure solution for storing personal belongings during worship.
This step seeks to enhance the experience of visitors to the Masjid al-Haram, also known as the Sacred Mosque or the Great Mosque of Mecca.
According to the authority, this service is distinguished by its availability of convenient pick-up and drop-off centers, the ability to collect luggage at storage centers and pick-up points at the main gates, and secure luggage storage that allows visitors to safely leave their belongings without having to carry them into the Masjid al-Haram.
The service is available 24 hours a day during Ramadan at luggage storage centers within Masjid al-Haram and near the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Library in the eastern courtyard opposite gate 64, and the western courtyard entrance (Al-Shubaika), as well as six luggage pick-up points at the main gates of the Masjid al-Haram.
It also features an advanced electronic tracking system that relies on a smart response code that enables luggage owners to collect it quickly and safely, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The service provides continuous luggage monitoring and storage in shelves equipped with continuous monitoring systems to ensure maximum protection.
It also provides a precise and fast delivery mechanism that ensures accurate data matching, thereby improving service efficiency and providing an easier experience for beneficiaries.
The Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques stated that the service can be used by registering luggage and issuing a smart bracelet containing a special code to track luggage electronically.
Luggage is transferred to designated storage areas, which are subject to continuous monitoring with periodic alerts every four hours, and easily retrieved by scanning the response code to verify data matching and safely receive it.
