Egypt condemns Israeli decision to cut off humanitarian aid to Gaza

Egypt on Sunday condemned the Israeli government’s decision to halt the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and close the crossings used for humanitarian relief work.

It added in a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry that these measures constitute a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement, international humanitarian law, the Fourth Geneva Convention and all religions.

The statement stressed that there can be no justification to starving innocent civilians and imposing a siege on them, especially during the month of Ramadan.

Egypt called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop any and all illegal and inhumane practices targeting civilians, and to condemn any attempts to achieve political goals by endangering innocent lives.
