FM stresses need to accelerate humanitarian aid entry to Gaza

Badr Abdelatty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Monday emphasized the urgent need to expedite humanitarian aid to Gaza due to deteriorating conditions and the importance of initiating early recovery and reconstruction programs.

These statements followed Abdelatty’s meeting with Sven Koopmans, the European Union’s Special Representative for the Peace Process in the Middle East, during the fourth meeting of the International Coalition to Implement the Two-State Solution in Cairo.

He presented Egypt’s comprehensive vision for early recovery and reconstruction, ensuring that the Palestinian people remain on their land. He outlined the stages and timelines for this plan for the Gaza Strip. In response, the European official acknowledged Egypt’s vital role in achieving a ceasefire and praised its efforts to develop a comprehensive recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza, expressing support for these initiatives.
