Egyptian TV host Amr Adib, the presenter of “al-Hekaya” (The Story) show broadcast on MBC Masr revealed the salary he receives annually from the MBC network as US$2.5 million annually during his speech at the World Government Summit.

He explained: “I earn $2.5 million (about LE 126 million) a year, I am not saying this out of pride. The profession of a media professional in the Arab world is not easy.”
“Many people come to you and tell you that at night you didn’t say so and so, why don’t you say that, and show me how you would do it. I always would like to tell people that prices are high. The biggest crisis I faced lately was the price of eggs.”
He continued: “Be careful, the average citizen doesn’t care much about NATO, the citizen cares about the price of eggs, the price of meat, and the price of rice, this is our policy in Egypt. This is what if you talk about you would have a problem.”
Adib concluded: “But if talk about parties and proportional representation, say what you want, but when you talk about making a living, you must know that we work under circumstances.”
