FM hails Ireland’s support for upgrading Egypt-EU relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty praised Ireland’s support for upgrading Egypt-EU relations, including the disbursement of the second €4 billion tranche of EU financial aid to Egypt.

During a meeting with Irish Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Harris on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Abdelatty expressed eagerness to build on the outcomes of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s 2024 visit to Ireland, by enhancing economic cooperation, vocational training, labor mobility, ICT collaboration, and academic partnerships.

He also highlighted Egypt’s efforts in implementing the Gaza ceasefire deal, delivering humanitarian aid, and ensuring Gaza’s reconstruction with Palestinians remaining on their land, commending Ireland’s principled stance on Palestine.
