FM: State working to remove obstacles facing investors

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said the Egyptian State is working to remove obstacles facing investors to lure more foreign direct investments.

Abdelatty made the comments during his meeting on Friday with European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis, on the fringe of the Munich Security Conference.

The top Egyptian diplomat expressed hope for enhancing the existing cooperation with the European Union (EU), within the comprehensive and strategic partnership between the two sides.

In a related context, the foreign minister said Egypt enjoys promising business opportunities and pays great attention to strengthening economic and trade cooperation with the European bloc.

Abdelatty reviewed available investment opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), noting European investors can benefit from free trade agreements to which Egypt is a party for exporting to African markets.
