American Youatuber MrBeast posted a 21-minute video on YouTube explaining his exploratory trip to Giza Pyramids area, during a filming time of 100 hours, which took place over the past few months.
The video showed his entry into the pyramids and filming inside the pyramids with Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass, a tour guide and a group of young people with him.
The video surpassed 34 million views less than a day after it was published.
In the video, MrBeast explained his exploration of the three pyramids and his entry into rooms that are legally forbidden to enter, in addition to his wandering and exploration of a group of tombs in the pyramids area.
This comes after the controversy over renting the pyramids area for 100 hours from the Egyptian government over the past few months.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities denied reports in the past few months about MrBeast renting the pyramids for 100 hours from the Egyptian government to film the video.
It confirmed that he promoted the pyramids site by filming his videos after obtaining filming permits, and after official working hours, accompanied by archaeological experts.
The ministry explained that the filming came in light of the YouTuber filming a series of short movies inside the area, which the state approved as tourism promotion for Egypt by shedding light on this archaeological area and its many secrets.
It confirmed that the area was operating at full capacity during the filming days to receive its visitors during official working hours.
MrBeast previously announced that he would film the three pyramids in Egypt as part of an exploratory experiment for his YouTube channel, and assured that this project was organized in cooperation with the Egyptian government.
