The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned that Egypt will continue to be affected by a cold air mass coming from the European continent during the next few days, with heavier cloud cover over the northern half of the country.
Rain is likely to fall on Saturday in the coastal cities overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, extending to the north and center of the Delta, the EMA said, adding that it will be light to moderate.
Chances for light and moderate rainfall will increase north of the country, extending to scattered areas of the Delta, while light rains may fall over Cairo.
The EMA called for citizens to follow all bulletins and updates issued by the meteorological authority, and to take adequate preparations against theĀ weather fluctuations and expected weather phenomena.
The authority advised citizens to wear heavy winter clothes to avoid the extreme cold, avoid traveling in the late hours of the night and early morning, and stay away from open areas.
Temperatures expected on Saturday:
- Cairo: 18C
- Alexandria: 17C
- Hurghada and Luxor: 20C
- Sharm el-Sheikh and Aswan: 21C
