CAIRO, Feb 2 (MENA) – Palestinian Minister of National Economy Mohammed al-Amour stressed Sunday the centrality of the Egyptian role in early recovery and reconstruction operations in the Gaza Strip within the coming period.
Amour made the statements during a meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Ramallah Ihab Suleiman. The Palestinian minister appreciated the efforts undertaken by Egypt to provide relief to the Palestinian people.
The two sides discussed the economic developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the living conditions in the Gaza Strip following the ceasefire agreement in addition to ways to enhance efforts to provide relief aid to the Strip.
The meeting addressed ways to develop bilateral economic and trade relations as the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening partnership between the two countries’ private sector and holding consultative meetings for businessmen to mull cooperation opportunities in various economic sectors, especially in light of the severe repercussions of the Gaza war on the Palestinian economy over the past year.
